Pick up/Drop off: We will pick up at the airport in Bangor, Maine or the bus in Bangor, Belfast or Augusta, Maine at no extra charge. Call to make arrangements.

River Trip

Ages 13-17: Advanced: Minimum 3
Cost: $500.00

Travel one of the rivers of Waldo County by foot and canoe. Journal plant and animal life and the condition of the habitat. Fish, swim and appreciate the waterways of Maine.


Half Expedition
July 27 - 29
Ages 13-17 or with special permission
Cost: $250.00

Cougars ages 13-17, will begin the week at Camp Forest Day Camp. Monday they will prepare for the expedition. On Tuesday they will leave from Camp Forest to hike to their base camp where they will fish, hike, climb, swim and sleep under the stars to return on Thursday afternoon to go home with family. Friday at Camp Forest they will share their experience with the Bobcats.

North Woods
August 9 - 13
Ages 13-17: Advanced: Minimum 3
Cost: $600.00

Travel to the North Woods of Maine. Learn and practice primitive skills in this pristine environment. This expedition will enhance confidence, and teamwork.
Half Expedition
August 17 - 19
Ages 13-17 or with special permission
Cost: $250.00

Cougars ages 13-17, will begin the week at Camp Forest Day Camp. Monday they will prepare for the expedition. On Tuesday they will leave from Camp Forest to hike to their base camp where they will fish, hike, climb, swim and sleep under the stars to return on Thursday afternoon to go home with family. Friday at Camp Forest they will share their experience with the Bobcats.

BEAVER EXPEDITION
August 23 - 27
Ages 9-12
Cost: $350.00

A wonderful first expedition, the Beaver Expedition offers five days of exploring the headwaters of the Passagassawaukeg River in Brooks, Maine. The expedition begins at Camp Forest on Monday morning. After packing all the necessary gear and practicing with it a bit, we hike to Half Moon Pond and set up a primitive campsite. The week is spent exploring, fishing, canoeing, and visiting the beaver. A hike to the top of the mountain reveals a surprise. Although this expedition is open to all campers ages 9-12, each camper must meet certain requirements before being allowed to participate.


Registration Fee is a $50.00 deposit and is non-refundable.

RequirementThe North Woods and River Trips will require a transportation waiver.

Cancellations: An Expedition may be cancelled if there are less than the required number of participants registered. Register early to ensure your spot!

Refunds: A full refund will be issued if the expedition is cancelled due to low registration. Paid fees, except registration fee, will also be fully refunded if cancellation request is made at least one week in advance.

Registration: Expedition space is limited. Spots fill up quickly. Register early to ensure your spot. Requested expedition is considered secured upon receipt of full payment.

Camp Forest Expedition/Counselor Ratio:varies according to the expedition but is no greater than 1:5.
